Do tums help with nausea?

What remedies out there help with nausea due to acid reflux? I can never keep Pepto-Bismol down because of its consistency. :p

  • Although my doctor, parents, and bf tell me not to, I like eating spicy and acidic foods when they're not looking. Sadly, I pay for it later cause I obviously get heartburn and feel nausea afterward, and tums, rolaids, and pepto bismol don't work. I especially hate the consistency of pepto bismol cause its like the same milky stuff they made me drink at the x-ray clinic which almost made me vomit when I went in to check for acid reflux, which I did end up having -_- I know you're gonna say "stop eating that stuff altogether" to avoid heartburn but even tomatoes or oatmeal and other simple stuff like that could trigger it. Any other remedies you know of that could help?

ginger ale with real ginger in it. ginger is good for your stomach. i have the same problem by the way and it helps me.

mint extract in water or real ginger sliced and put into warm water always help me...

They have medicine out for acid reflux specifically. I know Pepcid AC, Prilosec, Prevacid, Nexium and Zantac might help. You might want to get checked for GERD(Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease). That might be serious. Either way talk to your doctor.

Increase your fiber intake and drinks lots of water. Many cases of acid reflux are really about a slow digestive system not emptying in a timely manner. Increase your fiber as a lifestyle change and you will see improvement in your tolerance of the good spicy stuff. If you have a slow burn already in progress you can drink water and I swear by Maalox liquid. Yes, it's chalky but it's over in a second and if you chase it with a drink of water it helps put the fire out quickly. And I would never say quit eating those things...cause I love them all.
