How to sing better? Suggestions? Advice and facts/instructions invited

  • I want to sing better than I do now. I'm not sure how I sing, but I'm sure it's kinda bad. Any suggestions, like drinks to drink? I want to make my voice smoother. Please, don't respond that 'you have to be born with a great singing voice' or any of that. I'm looking for answers, not put downs, because one of my dreams/bucketlists is singing a song (Smile, MJ version), and being a singer. Please give singing lessons, if can, and 'how to sing'. I heard you sing from your diraphram. Where is that? (I don't know where it is because I'm still in middle school). Also, I use to sing pretty good when I was younger (4, 3 grade), if that helps.

    I suggest Singing for Dummies. All their books seem great,I'm working with their Harmonica book now and have several other of their books. The diaphragm is the sheet of muscle separating the organs in your thorax,rib cage from the organs in your abdomen,stomach area. Take a deep breath pushing out with your stomach area,thats using your diaphragm. I think singing,especially sol takes a lot of courage. I wish you well!
