Is this Nightmare Scenario possible? Everything in the world that is computer-based crashes...everything. What happens next?

I believe I would go fishing, and hope that my debts and such get lost in the confusion.

Those of us who still remember what it was like before computers will cope. The rest are doomed. :>)

Those of us who can operate just fine without a computer, do well.

for a time it would be total choas until the computer junkies died out which they would with out any survaval skills major civlaztions would crash with the current currency along with it however there are large parts of the world would not notice and if they did it would only be due tp a large back lash the rest of the world would start

It is not only possible, but likely. A strong solar flare or magnetic storm directed at Earth would destroy most machines ability to operate. Same would occur from a gamma ray burst from a star many light years away. The power grid would be out of commission for at least 6 months and it would be decades before any sembalance to modern life would return. Of course, a large part of the "civilized" world would die within 1 year, due to the fact that most would not be able to eat and drink without a local McD's or supermarket. Then the plagues would start, Spread to the entire world and humanity may survive in small pockets. A new world could start and hopefully not make the same mistakes the old one did.

I know how to survive. I know the techniques...and ways. I be ready. I know the masses would panic, and we have anarchy.
