  If you are looking for pledges then I recommend firstgiving.com. You would set up a fundraising page. It takes minutes and one photograph. Send links for the page to everyone you know. In exchange for the structure of the fund-raising, Firstgiving takes 7.5% of the pledges. You may also request offline donations, such as by check, which would go to the philantropy in entirety. I used firstgiving and, on my page, recommended modest pledge levels on a per-mile basis for a distance event. Some of the least expected people came forward with pledges, and it was easy to raise a few hundred dollars.
