How should we promote our literary magazine?

How do you position the M9 magazine and pouch to promote smooth and rapid reloading of your M9 pistol?

  Assuming you are right handed, position the magazine pouch on your left side, on the outside of your hip as this promotes the most natural grabbing position (as your hand would rest if you had your hands on your hips), and place the magazine upside down with the rounds facing forward, more specifically the bullets themselves facing the same direction as you. When you reach down and grab your magazine, during the transition to the pistol, rotate the magazine from upside down to rightside up and place the mazine into the magazine well. One thing I teach novices is to rotate the pistol slightly to the left so you can better observe the controls and where the magazine is going. When you become more comfortable in realizing where the controls are, then the pistol can remain facing towards the target. Me, personally, after the slide is locked to the rear, I immediately drop the empty magazine while reaching back, then position my thumb on the slide release as to not release the slide but keeping very mild pressure on it. As precievably soon as I can feel the magazine lock into place, or right before, I release the slide to chamber the round. Hence this is one of the many reasons why I'm one of the fastest shooters and finishers throughout my pistol qual.
