Repressed childhood memories

adults either naturally remember events that were hurtful/ traumatic, or They remember events with the help of therapists or with the help of alternative healing methods. The worst is : they have completely blocked out events. In the event they " blocked out", the event was so scary, so traumatic that body mind and soul tucked it away very very deeply, and usually such being created something around it.some protective lifestyle or habits. an example of blocking out would be : the child hides in the closet watching a violent scene and so the child counts and re-counts the patterns on the carpet, to NOT concentrate on the detrimental event beyond the closet door. for instance a child is being violently abused , the child might block by starting to count the stripes on the wall paper, to block out the event. sometimes TINY events can cause trauma too( father says : leave me alone I am busy) (or: mother says : you never do it as good as your brother ). such tiny sentences can cause trauma and the child will live according to whatever the mind created from it. for instance people who were told as kids " you are never as good as....." will then think " I am never as good as others, therefore I have to strive to be perfect". The repression you speak of arises from an extrem situation the person cannot actually remember.
