Why are Corporations allowed to exploit cheap labor overseas and benefit but i cant buy cigarettes over state lines to save money?

• Should Corporations that do this be taxed higher as punishment for killing American jobs? What happened to the free market? Why am I allowed to by anythings thats taxed such as food, clothing, video games (paid partly from sales tax), I can drive to Mexico to get cheaper gas (another way of avoiding the high tax on gas here), I can buy alcohol online cheaper and less taxed, but I cant buy cigarettes from other places and bring them home! The tax on cigarettes alone in NY is over $5!! Whether or not cigarettes are bad for me or not, thats not the question. Instead of just going after the poor cigarette buyers trying to save money so they dont end up homeless or without food, why not make everything including all items and labor (not just cigarettes) get taxed when bringing the product already paid for back to their state! If gas is taxed at $.50 a gallon in one state and I fill up for gas in another state, should people have to pay taxes on top of that when entering that state with the gas they already bought? What do you think of this and why?

  Countries make their own laws. America doesn't own other countries, and they don't own America. America has only 5% of the world's population; there is no reason American law should apply to the remaining 95% of the world's population. Likewise, within America, the founding fathers fought hard for states rights - the right of the separate states to be different. You are suggesting that the whole world should be one bland sameness. Beware - if it were, it is unlikely to be like it is where you are now. The "average" human is Asian. Or you could go where they things you want to buy are cheap: you are complaining about corporations moving - but you have the option of doing so yourself.
