Why does the US goverment blackmail states? BAC limit reduced from .10% to .08% while ZERO is done about motorcycle helmet laws?

Answer:
Man in NY our BAC is .08 and we have helmet laws. People fight against the helmet law, but I understand. It's the choice to be free, but your a retard if you don't wear one. Same with a seat belt.

When someone drives intoxicated, their impaired judgment holds consequences for other drivers and pedestrians that they may encounter. When a motorcyclist rides without a helmet, they alone face the consequences of that action. During my motorcycling days, we used to refer to the helmet as the brain bucket; those with one, wore one. Having said that, I must admit that during my late teens and early 20s, I rode in town on hot summer days without a helmet. Traffic was much lighter in those days and everyone was not in the manic hurry that they are today, so safety was not much of a concern. If I were to ride today, I would wrap myself in full body armor.

Sorry, I don't see how you can draw a comparison between Blood Alcohol Content and motorcycle helmet laws, or how it could be construed as blackmail. Helmets don't drink and drive. If you're suggesting that people wear helmets when they drink ... you might be on to something. BTW, if you're going to have another drink ... you better do up your chin strap.

How does regulating BAC but not helmet laws equate to "blackmail"?

That's not really blackmail. Sorry about your DUI. That sucks.

If the US government blackmails other countries, what is so unusual with its blackmailing it's own states? After all, it's all in the family. And you realize that by driving drunk you endanger the lives of others. When you ride a motorcycle without a helmet it's your own life that's being endangered. If you're too stupid to take care of your own safety, you shouldn't expect the Daddy Government to do it for you.
