Should I tell my boss I am looking for another job if she threatens to fire me again?
-
My job is not at all what I expected, lazy co workers bad attitude low morale etc etc. my boss also plays favorites and has made it clear I am not one of them. I am trying and TRYING as hard as I can, but it is just not a good match. I also will not be getting a computer program that everyone else has. After 7 months, I am ready to give up. My boss pretty much told me I will be let go in March if I do not improve. She also has her favorites who do nothing all day, and she looks the other way. I know I am not going to be here much longer, and if she threatens to fire me again I am going to say, " I am trying as hard as I can but I do not think this is a good fit. I was not given all the resources I need to do my job. I am going to start looking for another job, and will give you proper notice when I find something" I know I will collect unemployment, everyone who gets fired from here does, there is A LOT of turnover. The job was not accurately described to me before I took it. I have asked my boss questions about things, and more than once she has given me a wrong answer.

Answer:
No!! Never leave a job unless you have the financial cushion or another job to go to. Start looking for one now off premises and see whats out there. If you find one then just hand in your notice. keep it simple.

Never ever tell your boss that you are looking for another job.

I would not say it if I wasn't actually going to do it. If you only say what you mean, there's a much less chance it will back-fire on you.
