The new (R) House Chair on Higher Education says in a barely coherent sentence, government should not fund education. Do you agree? Wny

Speaking on the House floor earlier this year, Foxx said, “Some of the things that have been done, most of the things that have been done by the federal government that are unconstitutional in my opinion, have been done for good reasons, they’re not malevolent reasons. But they’re wrong. We should not be funding education, for example. And some of us who are here tonight have talked about that in the past.” Despite that statement, Foxx has consistently voted to fund education in the past.

It is my firm belief that a government BY the people FOR the people should take care of the basic needs OF the people. As such, basic needs should be met BY the people (The government is our representation). Education Health care Minimum housing (for those who don't have any). Decent food (Doesn't have to be fancy). Fire Protection Police Protection. Further, I believe that everyone should pay (only) a 25% income tax. Corporations (who are legal entities thus are 'individuals') should also pay a flat income tax of 25%. If you are rich and you think this is 'unfair' it is a free nation, please feel free to leave.

Education is not necessairly productive. Teachers don't have a real job. The institution often seems to steer many people in the wrong direction. A lot of people have discovered they hate their jobs after years of preparation for the job. Somehow the institution has wound up babysitting and teaching very little. There are teachers who teach and generally feel good, but to many teachers hate their babysitting jobs. A lot of money is being wasted. Kids can learn a lot without a lot of the stuff. For example when they can lean a table or some piece of wood lying around for an incline plane, they buy a whole bunch of incline planes. As with all professions a lot of teachers sit behind their desks most all period long and feel guilty about it. These teachers will invent work and teaching methods that allows them to sit while the students are busy. These are methods that the principal likes for some reason. These methods then require more teachers to sit around while the students are busy. The inventor of these methods who had the guilt complex is an expert at it while others are trying to actually teach and do these new methods. The inventor also seems to rise above everyone else, get paid a lot more than everyone else. It is crazy in education, but I guess it is crazy in all jobs.
