How To Pick Numbers For The Lottery?

How do the lottery winners pick their numbers? Is it random numbers or special lucky numbers like birthdays?

    No such thing as a 'lucky' number. All numbers have an equal chance of being drawn, as they say. I have won maybe one or two small draws over the course of my lifetime and am still waiting for a big win. Hopefully :) But in answer to your question, the way I choose my numbers for a lottery ticket well I either use the Microsoft Excel RAND function which generates random numbers, or I go onto this website random.org and select the 'Lottery Quick Pick' function which also selects random numbers which can be used for lottery draws. I dont know whether either these increase the chance of winning, but I mainly use both systems just for fun. Remember, the lottery is just a game after all. Good luck.

Most of the major jackpot winners have had a lucky dip ticket. I use random lottery numbers at http://www.euro-millions.com/random-lottery-numbers.asp I like to have a brief look at my numbers before. But random numbers seems to work more than birthdays etc as dates of birth only range from 1-31

It's a mix of both random picks and people choosing their own numbers. Most winners will be people choosing their own numbers, because most people buying tickets choose their own numbers. And of those choosing their own, lots do pick numbers that are personal or lucky to them. The only real lucky numbers though are the ones that have already won... and match your ticket :-)

Of all the lottery winners I've read about, I can only recall 1 saying that his numbers were a "quick pick". All the others said they used "lucky" numbers, dates and things.

Whatever you like. I use the Lotto machines at work :-) You can pick either an auto-pick which gives you a set of randomly generated numbers or you can fill out one of them papers which lets you choose your numbers. Most people choose a set of numbers they believe to be lucky and play them every week until they become unlucky numbers...then they change and keep playing and the cycle continues...its an addiction; don't get into it.
