What are the best thermal printers on the market?

Are there any scanner printers on the market that will allow you to save a scan directly on to a flash drive, without going thru a computer?

  • I'm after a home scanner/printer in the $60-130 range and a real handy feature I would love to have in it is the ability to scan an image directly on to a flash drive, as a JPEG. Obviously this means that the printer will need to have a USB socket (separate to its USB connection to the computer). Does anyone know of a scanner/printer, or a model range of scanner/printers that has this capability?

    For the record, I finally settled for an Epson WorkForce 630, which does this task and cost me less than $200. I know this is a bit over my price range, but it really is a top-of-the-line machine with a 2400dpi scanner and just about every little perk your could hope for in a printer.

My HP PSC 2175 has card slots in it. I know I can insert a card and print pictures off of it. I do not Know if I can write to these cards, I think it is a read only thing.

HP had one a while back don't know if they still have them or something like it, the 3800 series All in One, printer, scanner, copier with memory card ports SD/MMC/MS/XD/DUO and CF however I could never understand why they never included an extra USB port for usb memory downloads .. ~Nemo~
