What to do with the rib pain?

I have this sharp pain on my left front rib area and it feels like my rib flips upward or bulges out. Any idea on what this is?

  • It mostly occurs when I am leaning over. The pain is the worst pain in the world and makes it hard for my to inhale because I feel like my rib is going to break, and the only way it goes away is if I relax and slowly exhale...then the bones go back to place.

sounds like a dislocated rib (doubtful or you'd be wincing taking a breath), or more likely an intercostal muscle strain. does your sternum make a popping sound when you stretch your arms over your head and lean forward (like in a doorwell?)

no, I honestly have no idea...but I think it would be wise to see a doctor.

You've probably just got an alien stuck inside you, he just wants to get out.

Your ribs are held in place by cartilage. An x-ray would rule out any separation in that particular area.
