Should I take a break from gradschool?

Should my bf and I take a break? break up? or work it out? Read description please.

  • He cheated on me a couple years ago when he got drunk at a party. There was a misunderstanding and he thought we broke up so he went to a party. Things have been really great up untill now. He put a picture of a girl as his wallpaper on his ipod and has been texting her alot. He says it's because they grew up together and she is sick with cancer or whatever. I've seen him texting her and he called her baby and things like that. when i confronted him he swears nothing it going on and that he only loves her as a friend and wants to be there for her in her sickness. but i'm learly if this if the whole truth. I told him that this honestly hurts my trust in him a little and he suggested we could take a break if i wanted. He says he doesn't want to take a break but it's up to me. I don't know what to do. We are living together, and we really love eachother, and have been together for almost 2 years.

    Get the facts.........from HER.Tell him you want to meet this mystery woman. You should be able to tell from his reaction to the request what is really going on. If you,and she,are such an important part of his life,as he claims,he shouldn't have any problem bringing you two together for a meeting. And being drunk is no excuse for cheating.

Leave him. He was unfaithful. And even if he "thought" you were on a break..he should've been hurt by it. And he can care for his friend but not more than his lady, which is you. You will see it so clearly when u are gone for a while.

Break up with him. I mean if he really loves you he shouldn't do that to you. He could tell it to you whats the situation but he didn't , right? you caught him and that's not good. There must be something going on. Love is just an illusion . If you get hurt doesn't mean your heart is broken cuz if it was you would be dead by now. ENJOY life.

Obviously you haven't gotten over his cheating and still do not trust him. Whether there is more or not happening with this girl is rather irrelevant because until you work through your trust issues with him and feel secure in your relationship with him you will not trust him around any girls. If you want the relationship to work I would suggest you meet or talk to this girl and also look at couples counseling to work through the trust issues. If you decide to leave him I would suggest you still look at counseling to work through those issues yourself as you could carry them over into the next relationship.

i think you should stay together. cancer is a hard thing to go through for anyone. the fact that he calls her baby is a little much but he could also be looking at it differently as a term of endearment rather than a sensual term, it would depend on how he looks at her. if its a little sister type thing than its more understandable but it all depends on what your bf is like. i think youre best bet would be to help him through it to or at least offer to. tell him you would like to get to know this girl and become her friend bcz any friend of his should be a friend of yours especially if you live together and her condition obviously bothers him so take the time to get to know her and see why theyre such good friends. now if he shys away from this then you should think it through a little more thoroughly. theres no reason he should say no.
