Has anyone here experienced an earthquake?

Has anyone experienced a really bad tornado and a really bad earthquake? Which was worse for you? Tornados look very scary..are they?

  • Answer:

I haven't. I agree with you that tornadoes look scary! If we lived in places where those happen frequently, though, we'd probably get used to it.

have been in a half dozen or so earthquakes including a 7.3 and seen a tornado up close and personal passed within 20 yards and both are scary especially when there is no place to go and it is only by pure luck that you are still there afterwards... ~Nemo~

Whatever that can kill you is scary but I think being buried alive is worse than being blown away!

We've only had very very minor earthquake tremors locally. But, we've have had tornadoes within 2 miles of our home many times. They have leveled homes and uprooted trees and crumpled big electrical tower lines. They can be very selective in their paths ... it's eerie. My husband who works for our local power company has been on Storm Restoration duty many times .. going into these areas assessing outages. He's been gone for a couple weeks. It's heartbreaking to see the damage. I don't know which would be worse .. I just know that they're both killers!

I've never been in a tornado. But, earthquakes will always seem scarier to me since I was in the shower right when a 7.4 hit in California. It was terrifying zomg.
