What is the difference between shopping at Walmart because you save money and buying anything online because you save money?

No difference.

On the one hand you're buying poorly made crap from a retail titan, and on the other you're buying pretty much anything from a complete and total stranger. I'd prefer online, but if I really have something to buy I'll go to a smaller business in town. Surprisingly we still do have them even though a WalMart is a few miles away.

Shopping at Walmart as opposed to online shopping: Pros: 1) You get what you paid for immediately. 2) You get to physically examine the product(s) before buying. 3) You get some exercise( If you're the hyperactive type) 4) You meet people( If you're not the misanthropic type) Cons: 1) Shitty customer service(Granted, this doesn't happen all the time, but it's something occurred far less often with online shopping, unless your order takes ages to arrive and the staff are less than helpful or something) 2) You have to lug the stuff to your car(or bus, or home if you happen to live nearby) 3) You get some exercise(If you're the couch-potato type) 4) You meet people(If you're the misanthropic type)

Usually the clerks at Wal Mart are indifferent or outright rude. Their goods are sometimes shoddy. I prefer other discount stores that are nicer, even if I pay more. You must be careful shopping online. I found a small number of reliable sellers and I stay with them. For example: L.L. Bean, Cabelas, Staples

Immediate gradification at Walmart.

There is none.

You get more laughs in Walmart.....

If you go to Walmart then probably you expend a bit of fuel for a dedicated trip in a single-passenger vehicle, and you get the sights, sounds, and smells of Walmart. You get your goods same-day. You annoy the Walmart-bashing libs by patronizing said business that promotes production in China and does terrible things here at home, like hiring perfectly willing applicants and paying them a retail wage.
