What knitted items sell best?

  • I want to start a website to sell my knitting, which I'll advertise for by word of mouth and doing some craft fairs, maybe putting a few things on ebay and linking to my site. I'm trying to figure out what the best kinds of things to sell would be. So here are the two main questions I was wondering. 1. Would it be best to market to a niche with one kind of thing (just preppy style clothes or just baby stuff for example) or would it be better to just sell a hodgepodge of everything that strikes my fancy (clothes of all styles, stuffed animals, home decor type items, etc.)? 2. Which sells better, novelty items (like stuffed angry birds or other items referencing current fads/movies/etc.) or more serious things (like fashionable shawls and slouchy hats)?

    i recomend hats. their simple fast if you're diligent. and they go great for places up north i mean they will really sell. people love hats up here. and when i was in high school years ago i remember the popular thing was beanies for guys. and i'm a girl and even i loved beanies. :D
