What is important to know when you study architecture?

Is Architecture still a good career choice?

  • I'm 17 and I've been drawing my entire life. It's who I am and the only thing I've ever been sure about. So when I was 11 I decided to major in Architecture. But back then it wasn't recession. Now my parents want me to study Dentistry in college but I for one, hate biology (but I love Chemistry). I don't know if I should give up my dream and who I am, even though Dentistry is a safer choice. Anyway, I wanted to ask if anyone knows something about Architecture these days, if people build anymore or if it is a dead industry. Does anyone think things will get better ,let's say, ten years from now?And what should I do, follow my parents will or risk it all and do Architecture? p s: don't tell me please to double major because I do not have the money, plus in my country you cannot do that. Thanks.
