How can one tell the difference between a cold & allergies?

  • Answer:

Well, Holly.....it's hard to tell. Both colds and allergies have the same symptoms. It's likely to be an allergy if your symptoms are seasonal.....or if you feel better either indoors or outdoors. Another sign of allergies is that you feel the symptoms when you are around a specific animal. Allergy symptoms seem come and go. A cold hangs on constantly. And, like Iron_Eagle said, a cold makes you feel weak. If you think you have an allergy, have your primary care doctor refer to to an Allergist. He/she will run some tests. If everything comes back negative for allergies.....at least you know.

For me anyway its.... If im getting sick I feel like crap, I can always tell when a virus or bacterial infection is attacking, or begining to attack my body. Usually allergies for me dont make my body feel run down, they are just annoying, extremely annoying allergy symptoms. If your feeling run down, or for sure if you have a fever at all your probibly getting sick...hope you feel better:)
