Archery (recurve or long bow) ~ What kind of strengthening exercises are necessary for beginners? How does one treat sore shoulder blades?

Answer:
I've been wanting to take up archery for quite some time... along with playing the piano. I plan to do both after I finally finish school. You can treat any sore muscle with Ipsom salt in a hot steamy bath. In the future, make sure you stretch out your muscles thoroughly before shooting. The pain will subside. Until then, stretch and soak your muscles. Have fun!

It would be best to consult a physical therapist about it, as they know how to target the specific muscles of the shoulder that it requires and can assist with the pain of the high tension of those muscles in the shoulder and the arm.
