Answer:
Hello More: Nope. It's just weather... It would HELP if you understood the difference between the climate and weather... But, they don't teach that on FOX News. excon

Climate change is the preferred term, not global warming, which means things get screwed up, and yes some places get golder while other places get warmer. Imagine your kitchen as a world. Unplug your freezer and open the door, and you'll find that the freezer gets warmer, but the kitchen floor gets colder. Duh, you get it now? A 2 degree warming in the ocean changes its currents for instance, and if those currents are changed in a way that brings cold waters from the north, areas in the path will get colder, yes, colder, at the same time that the polar ice cap is melting. So take your head out of the sand and stop feeling smug as if this isn't YOUR problem, it is.

Well. I'll answer wih datas, and no oppinions. Western Europe, has had one of the warmest and dryier Octobers in the last century. Some cities have reached record high temperatures that had never been recorded before. Now weather has, fortunatelly, returned to normal for the season. Does it mean a global warming, or only a Natural motion of the Azores High, a little bit more to the north than before? It's a month a valid sample? I think waether is changing, as it has been doing so, during the last 4500 million years. The difference, is that from historical and geological records, it looks to be happening a lot faster than before. From the same fonts, its known, that never in the history of our planet, had been such a long period with such a stable weather, than the one we are living (with "we" being humanity). Is the change due to humans activity or not? That's the question. The change is a fact. The doubts are around its causes and about where does it lead our climate to. Regards

Funny you should reference Al Gore. Al Gore ADMITTED that he lied in his "mockumentary" to make his message seem more important. Of course, he claims that his opinions are so important that if he has to lie to get people to pay attention, well that is just what he has to do. As the previous poster already mentioned, those that were crying global warming have now changed their tune for the exact reason you brought up. People aren't all stupid and when it is colder than ever, it is hard to convince them that it is warmer than ever. So, a few years ago, they had the brilliant idea to call their theory global climate change. That way, if it gets hotter, they were right and if it gets colder, oh wait, right again. The chances of the temprature staying excatly the same from year to year? Virtually nil. Now, that isn't to say that the earth's climate doesn't change. It does. In fact, historically the earth's climate cycles between warmer and colder every few thousand years. The last "mini" ice age was in the middle ages. What about the polar bears? Why won't someone think of the polar bears? Yes, why won't they? As you may or may not know, our poles are not in fixed positions and they "drift." As the poles drift, the climate where they used to be changes-if every so slightly. Sucks for the polar bears but are we REALLY so egocentric as to think that WE puny humans control the earth's temperatures? I'm not.

Have you heard of Texas? Why not zero in on the drought there? Again... 1) Weather not = climate. 2) Human agricultural and industrial activity has greatly increased CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere. 3) An atmosphere w/ more CO2 does not let heat radiate away as well as one with less. 4) 95ish% of climate scientists "believe in" the above facts.

I really feel sad for our Corporatist Kleptocrat Uncle Tom. Uncle Tom knows that climate and weather are not the same thing. Uncle Tom knows that the weather in New York City over a 2-week period is not a proxy for the global climate across decades. But Massah says he has to pretend to be this much of an idiot in order to get his 30 pieces of silver, and getting those 30 pieces of silver makes life so much better than being a Field N****r that Uncle Tom feels compelled to spout the idiocy Massah tells him to.

“NASA covered up for forty years proof that the greenhouse gas theory was bogus. But even worse, did the U.S. space agency fudge its numbers on Earth’s energy budget to cover up the facts? As per my article this week, forty years ago the space agency, NASA, proved there was no such thing as a greenhouse gas effect because the ‘blackbody’ numbers supporting the theory didn’t add up in a 3-dimensional universe: “During lunar day, the lunar regolith absorbs the radiation from the sun and transports it inward and is stored in a layer approximately 50cm thick....in contrast with a precipitous drop in temperature if it was a simple black body, the regolith then proceeds to transport the stored heat back onto the surface, thus warming it up significantly over the black body approximation...” Thus, the ‘blackbody approximations’ were proven to be as useful as a chocolate space helmet; the guesswork of using the Stefan-Boltzmann equations underpinning the man-made global warming theory was long ago debunked. If NASA had made known that Stefan-Boltzmann’s numbers were an irrelevant red-herring then the taxpayers of the world would have been spared the $50 billion wasted on global warming research; because it would have removed the only credible scientific basis to support the theory that human emissions of carbon dioxide changed Earth’s climate. But, until May 24, 2010 these facts remained swept under the the carpet.... see: http://climaterealists.com/?id=5783 "he more than 300 additional scientists added to this report since March 2009 (21 months ago), represents an average of nearly four skeptical scientists a week speaking out publicly. The well over 1,000 dissenting scientists are almost 20 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media-hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers." http://www.climatedepot.com/a/9035/SPECIAL-REPORT-More-Than-1000-International-Scientists-Dissent-Over-ManMade-Global-Warming-Claims--Challenge-UN-IPCC--Gore ""The fact that the 2001 “hockey stick” chart was presented in color in several sections of the 2001 IPCC report, without explaining how the scientists managed to completely eliminate their earlier depiction of the Medieval Warm Period and the Little Ice Age (both are well covered in historical documents as well as scientific analysis is unacceptable behavior. (http://www.co2science.org/data/mwp/mwpp.php) "Noting that the “hockey stick” chart was removed in later editions of the IPCC “scientific” reports supports the conclusion that something is indeed wrong. It was removed because an outside investigation was conducted that resembled a proper engineering review - with a finding of fraud. "Specifically, the fraud was identified by showing that the critical data for the chart came from cherry picking just a handful of Siberian trees (tree ring proxy to estimate temperature), without evidence that the researcher applied the proper scientific method. Using all the data or any random selection of 10% of the tree ring data showed no significant correlation of planet warming to human CO2 emissions." http://www.iceagenow.com/Burt_Rutan_calls_AGW_a_Fraud.htm

I didn't know there had been snow in NYC on 1st October. That was one of the warmest sunny days of the year in the UK.
Guess who
It's always challenging to demonstrate a definite causal link between a specific, one-time weather event, and the general phenomenon of global warming. Besides, I would put it to you that the storm is occurring in spite of global warming, rather than because of it, in this case. I'm not sure where Al Gore is, but I hope he's not in NYC.

The weather has been out of whack for the past several years and getting worst. Global warming doesn't mean temperatures are just warmer than they should be. It affects cold weather too. For those who think it only means warmer, I suggest you look up how adverse conditions affect the climate and it's result. If you think it's only warmer, then you're hitting yourself.
