Is it difficult to raise a family while studying?

I have no more motivation for school(college). I don't like what I'm studying. I never did.

  • What I'm studying isn't bad. It's just that this was not what I truly wanted to do. I chose to study to be an RT(Radiologic Technician) because it paid pretty well, the program is 2 years, and I thought it wouldn't be too hard to accomplish. I'm slowly being introduced to a business that sells life insurance without having to go to school but just to pass the training and get licensed. It pays well too. But what I really want to do and have always been wanting to do is be a Dog Service Trainer. I am so passionate about this job but the only reason I'm not studying this field is because the career pay is low. In this time, money is important and so being a dog service trainer isn't going make enough money to buy a house, car, and perhaps raise a family in the future even with the financial support from the wife. I think what I'm studying in school isn't overwhelmingly hard. It's just that I don't have the motivation/passion to WANT to learn it. I don't know what do decide right now in my point of life. I've been doing my generals for 3 years and haven't even gone into my 2 year program yet. I know, it's ridiculous. It's not school that's the problem. The problem is I don't have any motivation for what I'm studying. It doesn't interest me that much to want to learn it and enjoy learning it. What do you think?

  • Answer:

Your school has career assesment classes. One of the results for my MMPI showed that I liked all but 2 fields of study in my personality inventory, that compared my likes to likes of those in certain professions. It's a really good class to get ideas, and find the things that you really might want to do, and get paid for. Make an appointment with your school counselor and ask them about it. They are the ones who usually run classes like that. Your passion for doing that thing with dogs might be good to have as some hobby, or job that you like more.
