Partial phone number search?

why can't i get any search results other then the dozen or so "free" reverse phone search companies when i google a phone number?

• i mean come on, if you search for anything else you get millions of results from websites, documents, books, news feeds, forums, blogs, etc but search for a 10 digit phone number and all you get is 2 pages of "find out who called from XXX-XXX-XXXX number" which always leads back to one of the hand full of sites selling "reverse look up" data like intellus and cellphone detective. where is my full, crawled web results? public documents, news paper and rss feeds, yellowpages, facebook, myspace, craigslist, etc

  They want you to pay for their services. It's a scam. Unless, you really need the name of the person who called, I wouldn't do it. It could be one of those things where they debit your account monthly and is nearly impossible to cancel... so check that out if you're going to do it.
