In England 60% of the fish caught and killed in the sea's are thrown back into the sea DEAD...This is because the fish might be to small~~

My Question is...Why don't the half-witted people in Government and the Fisheries Dept know and do something about it....How are these people still in power..????

This was about 8 years ago, I can assure you that since then another 1% of large fish have been wiped out. There are laws on the books that prevent fishermen from taking small fish. Those walls worked rather well when the seas were abundant with large adult fish. Now most of the haul in a net is small - there is nothing they can do legally (the laws are too old) to deal with the small fish. Recently Obama proposed new regulations for fishing industry here in the states, this was immediately picked up by the republicans who spun it to tell us that no one would be allowed to fish anymore. So when a politician does attempt to address it, due to politics and vote winning the issue is being buried, hidden. I bet the exact same thing is happening in Parliament and in the EU. It is not just fish. Coral reefs are dying (mostly due to the chemical fertilizers running off of farmland into rivers and streams that dump into the oceans) Reefs are were most of the fish live.
