Animals in Banff,Alberta Canada?

For any of you against the seal hunt in Canada, may I ask you how it's different then any other killing of animals? (Ex.: Cows, Pigs.)

  • People often don't seem to understand that for many Canadians killing seals for food and clothing is how they survived, it's not like people do it for a "sport" as many people think. And people against it seem to have no problem with the killing of other animals, the difference is for the most part you just don't see footage of that, and those animals aren't so "cute". Oh, and by the way, the footage many of you see of little "cute" baby seals being clubbed to death is HIGHLY unaccurate.

  • Answer:

Food and clothing is one thing, and they're killing adults. I think the rub comes from the clubbing of those baby seals who have white fur, but whose coats turn a different color as they age. The key for the hunters is the white coat. Those against it have a good case, too. And the fact that they're so darn cute makes the comparison between cows and pigs meaningless.

Cows & pigs would kill us if they got the chance, so it's self-defense, while baby seals just come up to you trustingly for a tummy rub. What's inaccurate about "the footage many of you see of little "cute" baby seals being clubbed to death"? That was how they killed them, to avoid damaging the fur.
