  • Answer:

Well, you answered your own question. Your VCR is analog. You got the Comcast digital package. Your analog VCR can see the digital signal. All it would see is snow.

Well, you can ignore the Comcast box and set up an antenna and a digital converter box. I've had to do this myself so my wife can continue to record General Hospital with her VCR. The antenna feeds the signal to the converter box that changes digital channel 5 to a standard analog signal that fees into the VCR either on channel 3 or 4 or through the RCA video and audio plugs. That may be the only way you can do it.

Call Comcast and they will talk you through it or they will send someone and fix your problem. I have had digital for years and was able to record with my VCR. I no longer have my VCR and can't remember how it was hooked up but I know it can be done.

Make sure that the vcr is tuned to the same channel you set the DTA on. Both have to be on three or 4.
