What are available high-tech jobs that pay well and involve lots of travel?

Traveling nurses make a good salary, or so I have heard.

curious is right, you go where the company needs you, not where you want. I have a friend who is in exactly the kind of job you are looking for, he's a project manager. He has worked in places where the company buses him between the hotel and his work and he can't go outdoors at all because armed gangs run the town. He has worked in places where the airport has been shut down due to political unrest and he couldn't get out of the country and he couldn't go into town because of rioting. He has worked in places where the weather is constantly cloudy and cold, or the highs are over 100 every day. There have been times they've put him on a plane without a bag and he's had to go straight to work without a change of clothes for days until they let him stop working to shop. And wherever he goes, he has to rely on the local quality of the doctors and hospitals, which got interesting when a wild dog bit him. And of course he doesn't take his family, because he doesn't know where or when the company is going to send him next, they just manage without him, and sometimes it's months away. If that's what you really want, you're in luck, because companies really do like people who aren't tied down by having to live near elderly parents or good schools or places where people speak English, or write in the Roman alphabet, or eat familiar food.
