I was wondering if I should go for a teaching or nursing career. I am not smart, so it's hard to find what to go for.

Answer:
Don't beat yourself up. Lots of jobs call for traits other than intelligence. Take some test and see what you do best. Lots of vocational counseling is free. Honest work tht you enjoy will be a gift.

Nursing is complicated, but ultimately following someone else's orders. If you've a concern about being able to do "smart stuff," you might want to go that route. Teaching will be a constant demand of creativity.

You are likely to need a college degree to become either a teacher or a nurse... So, your best bet is to get busy with acquiring the degree. Start small, and start slow if you feel you need to 'get warmed up', so to speak. The way to do that is to start part-time with one or two courses (Maybe something from the English Department, and another in math or maybe history - just to get the juices flowing, and help you see if you are "college material")... Talk to a counselor at your school to get better focused on the how, the what and the why's of obtaining your college education... Don't make this decision too soon. There should be a fair amount of classes that can be applied to either degree, and working on them first might give you time to determine which is your preference - it is a lot easier to learn a job, and then do that job if you like it or love it, than it is to work "for the money"... After a year, maybe two, and you have 30 credits or so under your belt you ought to have some clearer ideas about your future. At that time you can start to think about making your mind up which way to go... Best of luck...

Both require you to be smart enough to do the job. See what your talent is. Daycare? which is a helping job Teach at your church...Sunday school. You pick a job and then if you don't like it, you have money to go for more training...keep adjusting your job to meet your interests/needs.
