How much can an average Directv DVR record?

How do I hook up a blue ray disc (LG bd590) to the Directv dvr so i can record on a dvd what I record on my dvr

    I need to tell you , your LG blu-ray is a player ONLY , it does not record, The only thing you could get at this point is a bluRAY recorder -it does support recordable blu ray discs but it is a high end priced product for now it comes with a high definiton hard drive, aka DVR, Amazon sells one , but it is 1,899.00 SEE THE LINK BELOW

I just looked up your model , you did not mention the player has a hard drive, I would loop an HDMI cable from your set top box to the bluray in and then out to the monitor, that should put it in the loop , if it does not have pass through then you high def TV should have a monitor out either HDMI or component out , use those to go to the HDMI IN OR COMPONENT IN ON THE BLU RAY , then for playback use THE SAME TYPE out put to an input on the TV set, that should let you record to your HARD DRIVE ON YOUR LG.
