How do you transfer an 8mm tape to DVD?

I AM TRYING FIND SOME EQUIMENT FOR MAKE TRANSFER OF BETA TAPE AND 8MM TAPE TO DVD, WHERE CAN I GET ONE OR WHAT TO DO.

  • Answer:

There are a lot of ways to go about it. You'll need a player for the tapes; if you don't have one, they're readily available on eBay. They put out a standard connector (called "composite video"). You can buy standalone DVD burners that will let you select the composite video as an input. Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-DR420-DVD-Recorder-Black/dp/tech-data/B001T6O0ZK/ref=de_a_smtd Or you can buy an adapter for your computer (Amazon has one on sale for as little as $7) and burn it to DVD (most computers come with a DVD burner these days).

Other answers

Go to EBay or some other source to buy a used Beta player if you do not have a working one. Or get a service company to make the DVD's for you. Sony ought to do this for people considering how it left them in the lurch.

Beta has better resolution than VHS. The trick is to preserve it.
