What is the best e-book reader?

What is the best Ebook Reader for 2010? Is it the iPad? The Nook? The Kindle? Sony Reader?

I am looking to get an Ereader for PDF books and epub books. I want the best of the best readers, one that has many features, can show photos in color (BW views of color photos is pointless). Something that can connect to the internet, do slide presentations, edit photos and docs, and I can check emails with. I already have an laptop but it is 7 years old and I don't want to spend a fortune on a new laptop, when an ebook reader is cheaper and more portable.. What has been your experience with the Kindle, Nook, Sony reader, and the upcoming Apple Ipad?

Most eReaders struggle a little with PDFs (which aren't *really* eBooks in the same way as an ePUB). It sounds like you want a tablet device rather than a dedicated eReader. The iPad is obviously very popular but pricey, and there are a load of Android-based tablets coming into the market now, which may well do everything you need and be a little cheaper than the iPad.
