How do I list one of a kind, handmade items for sale on Amazon?

I make handmade books. I sell them on my own site and other sales venues. I would like to sell them on Amazon, but I cannot figure out how to list unique items with no ISBN or UPC. I have a Marketplace Seller account for selling used books & CDs, but the listing process begins with an ISBN/UPC or an existing listing. Some sellers DO sell unique items, so it is possible.
