Does anyone know how to transfer money between accounts in different banks without wiring it?
-
Occasionally I need to transfer funds to my son's bank account and I always have to wire it. Not only do I have to pay the wire fee, but he gets dinged for a fee on his end, too. It seems that there should be an easy way to do this, like through my online bill pay service from my credit union but they don't seem to know how to go about it. Anyone have any brilliant ideas?

Answer:
check and see if your bank uses P.O.P. ( pay other people) you can use that to transfer by routing number, e-mail or telephone number.they will send instructions with the transfer on how to collect on the receiving end.cost is .99 cents 3 days transfer, 2.99 one day transfer. sure beats 25.00 for wire fee though........
