Actually we went to this device after we consolidated our printer and fax into one so it did make a ton of room for us... now granted, we are looking to upgrade .... i had come to this page just to see what other people thought of our device...... why are we looking to upgrade? 1. we need a wireless printer... 2. probably do more photocopying than print/fax.. and the ink does run out a bit quickly.... we are probably looking to invest in a laser printer just because we hate having to go to get copies done for large jobs.... but i have noted as most have as well--inkjets/officejets whatever--run out of ink fast vs. laser printers... worth the investment into a laser all in one if you use it enough and the toner is usually much less expensive and lasts longer... if someone likes their desktop and needs an all in one for some basic stuff, then this is more than enough.. but in this day and age, most of us now want our laptops printing without a wire... and then this is not for you! I own two of these in my home office, and they work just fine. Copying, scanning, faxing, etc. Their only weakness is shared with all inkjet printers, namely the expensive ink and the slow (compared with a laser printer) printing speed. I keep a personal laser printer next to my computer on the left, and this multifunction on the right for all my other needs. Both of them have been going strong for years now, and work just fine. It works better as a fax machine than my standalone fax machine. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? Parsey, Jr. (Phoenix, Arizona USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: HP Officejet J5780 All-in-One Printer/Fax/Scanner/Copier (Q8232A#ABA) (Office Product) This printer is the worst that I have owned since 1980. I have had Epson dot matrix, OKI Laser (really rugged, lasted for more than 50,000 pages, three books, technical reviews, papers, etc.), a Canon, 2 Epsons, and then I bought the HP. It looked good in the store. It installed with a huge amount of unnecessary overhead programs. Ostensibly it is a FAX/PRINTER/COPIER/SCANNER.
