It does bend in the wind and when very windy the flag does scrunch together at the top (have to re-adjust it every so often), but I have not found it to be in danger of breaking at all. It is compact when not in use and plenty long to waive your colors proudly. For those that are worried about it hitting your vehicle due to windy conditions, just go out and buy yourself some pipe wrap at a hardware store and put that on.
