After reading all the negative reviews I was a little hesitant, but this was literally all he would ask for. Christmas morning my husband had very little trouble getting it together and he was quite amazed at how well it was designed. It is rickety as many reviewers have mentioned, but that's what makes it work and what makes it fun. My son has had a blast with it for over a year now. All his friends love playing with it as well and they've all had fun trying to figure out which cars work best going through and watching the "duds" crash. After several months of play it did start getting a little "off" and the cars didn't quite make it all the way around, but the kids didn't care- they'd just push them through and keep going. After about a year and a half I convinced my son that it was time to move on. As he and his friends have gotten older, they've also gotten rougher and now the thing just doesn't stay together any more. As we were hauling it out he said he'd just ask Santa for another one! So, not a toy you'll hang on to to pass down to grandchildren years from now- but some great fun for the one's you have right now! It was relatively easy to put together and my two year old hasn't had any problems with it. Most of his Cars work with the track and he will play with it for 30 minutes at a time, which is pretty good for a toddler his age. He thinks it is hilarious.
