This review is from: Techcraft 50IN Wide Tv Stand Walnut Glass Top (Electronics) The brand new, sleek 46" HDTV (my first) looks fantastic on this 50" black, equally sleek stand. It's very stylish and has clean lines...plenty of room for other items on the middle and bottom shelves...I now have just a Blu-ray and a DVD recorder beneath the new TV. The stand could have been packed with more protection for the three tempered glass shelves. The middle-sized shelf was smashed to smithereens on opening the inner carton, while the other two shelves were in perfect condition. GO FIGURE! Tech Craft was very helpful in getting the replacement shelf shipped out and it arrived in terrific packaging. There were just a few days until I had the third shelf for the complete stand. The FedEx fella and I were both wondering why the outer carton from Tech Craft would only be labelled FRAGILE, yet the inner carton with almost no protection for the three shelves was clearly labelled FRAGILE -- GLASS. I don't know if it would help with future breakage to put GLASS on the outer carton, but it only makes sense to let those delivery folks know they're dealing with GLASS inside the substantial, heavy box. Again, Tech Craft handled the replacement shelf with no questions asked and carefully cushioned the new shelf. I am a happy customer! Its fairly well constructed -- using metal supports. The weld's were a little weak (they weren't full welds), but that shouldn't be a problem in most situations. It looks GOOD, and the wood veneer doesn't look like the paper crap that you see on a lot of inexpensive stands. All in all, I recommend this if it fits your decor. It has great looks and is built well enough that I'm surprised at how inexpensive it is. This fills the bill for something that looks good until we find exactly what we want (which may be a number of years). It was a snap to put together, looks fine, and is quite reasonably priced. One screw was slightly damage. It was good enough for now, but I have requested a replacement screw from the manufacturer. There was also a slight scratch on the wood, but a little touch up should make it impossible to find.
