Hey. I live in Durham. You can get a lot more bang for your buck here. They're refurbing the downtown area and there are some great funky little places well within your reach. Durham has a bad rap as far as crime is conserned, but It is no less safe than any other medium size city. And the people here a huge cross section from all over the world. It's never boring here in Durham. Cary is an expensive, homogenous, boring bedroom community. Raleigh is doing some really exciting things downtown. But the rent will be quite a bit more. Good Luck!
