Cooked turkey for thanksgiving?

Reheating a fully cooked turkey-we will be at my daughters on thanksgiving day and need to reheat the turkey-please help with guidelines for this 14 1/2 lb bird.

  • Answer:

In a 350 oven, reheat the turkey for 1 3/4 to 2 hours, basting every 20 minutes. If you originally cooked the bird with stuffing, remove the stuffing for the reheating process. Happy Thanksgiving!

Make sure that you use the juices to baste the turkey as you reheat it, including coating the inside of the bird as well as the outside. This should keep the meat relatively moist.

I purchased a frozen fully cooked 18.5 pound turkey this year. The directions on the wrapping said to remove the outer wrapping, leaving the inner one intact (essentially a steam bag). The directions say that I'm to reheat the bird in a preheated 325 F oven for 8-10 minutes per pound.
