I have to do a report thing, and i need to know "whats the difference between medieval art, and renaissance art"? help me, please.

Medieval art is predominantly symbolic, religious art. In painting, it is more schematic and not yet realistic (no perspective, no shadings, no facial gestures). Most artists of the Middle Ages are anonymous, because the concept of a personal, artistic genius did not exist yet. The Middle Ages in Europe last from c. 800 until c. 1400 (the transition to Renaissance is not sudden, but gradual, taking place a bit earlier in Italy and Flanders than in North-eastern Europe, for instance. Renaissance art uses imagery from Classical Greece and Rome, it develops a sense of naturalism and perspective. The most important Renaissance artist was Leonardo da Vinci.
