What does pediatric nursing involve?

What are some jobs that involve working with children and babies? Beside nursing//midwifery?

  • Answer:

Pediatrician; pediatric nurse; developmental psychologist; physcial, occupational, speech, or respiratory therapist; case manager; child life specialist; nutritionist; lactation consultant; child photographer; child librian; camp counselor. I think you get the point. The list is endless. I mostly listed the medical jobs b/c that is what I am most familiar with. The idea of volunteering in different field is a wonderful one. Not only can you get first hand experience but you make great business contacts as well. You may also want to go see your guidance counselor if you are still a teenager or visit the career center if you are in college. There is also a book called the Occupational Handbook which provides lots of info on different careers.
