I had to change the sound settings on the Revue to PCM output and it works great! If your TV or unit does not allow you to switch the output to PCM, this is not the unit for you (do your research). So easy to install even a cave man could do it! It works great. I purchased this item because my 40" Toshiba television only had optical audio out as an option, so this little guy helped me to convert that signal into rca outputs. It was unclear whether my TV would output audio in Dolby Digital or PCM. Well, after some research, I've come to understand that over-the-air TV audio will likely output audio as Dolby Digital as that is what's being fed. That being said, I figured that if I set my cable box and PS3 to out audio only in PCM, this converter should work, in theory. Well, I finally got the optical cable I needed and configured the audio on the cable box and PS3 to PCM-only output. I hooked up everything while the devices were unplugged/off. I turned everything on and turned up the volume. I was ecstatic to find out that it worked as I hoped it would. :-) The only drawback is that the audio volume level isn't very desirable. For reference, I have an LG 60PV450 plasma. There are no audio options regarding the optical out that can be changed. This TV is hooked up via RCA-to-3.5mm jack cables with the converter.
