For my AP English class, I have to read a biography or autobiography of my choice and write an essay agreeing or disagreeing with the subject's views. Any suggestions of good, interesting biographies to read, keeping the topic in mind?

Actually, yes. It's one of the few autobiographies I've read. It's called "Groucho and Me" by Groucho Marx, the comedian of the early film days who's often referred to as the King of One-Liners. Groucho is a very opinionated and often misanthropic individual. And, since he's a comedian, I must say that he writes a very interesting book. It's not too long and I found it a great read. I think you'll find what you're looking for.

I dont know of any biographies but F.Scot Fitzgerald is prety interesting. He was a failed writer for a awhile, part of his stories were based off of real life, when he got the fame he wanted he went down hill (began drinking), and his wife had several mental break downs and was sent to an institution in NC (i think) and died in it (i think she fell asleep with a cigg and burn the place down by an accident). Some of the info could be wrong but I still find him prety interesting. You may score poitns with your teacher because you should be reading his work pretty soon (11th grade?) if you havent already.
