How do I become more social and a fun person?

How do you become a fun person to be around? Because nobody in school has any interest in me whatsoever.

    Every so often a whole year of otherwise really nice people are just totally full of themselves, and its a rare and special person who has the power of introspection when the rest are completely shallow. They may not have any real interest in anybody but themselves - they may be completely wrapped up with being heard, being seen to be 'OK', being liked by the right people. People who start putting on growth spurts seem to lose capacity to empathise or think before they act. Its not you; its not about you; they are just having a little trouble seeing further than their noses. Hang on in there and learn to listen. Kind people will then tell you what it is (if anything) that you are doing to go against the flow, and in any case everyone wants to feel heard, so everyone gets to love a good listener who can: a) reflect back what they heard (so the talker knows they were heard - sentences like "So what you're saying is.....") and b) hear without passing judgement - so when they're done, the speaker feels lighter, better, like they off-loaded. You may disagree but I think its way more cool to be wanted, needed, trusted and liked than just to be 'fun'.

I heard a quote about how to make friends is to have genuine interests in other people. You know, like really get into the things you're interested in, and if you know/find someone else is like that...GREAT. That "real you" stuff is true but a little cliché...I mean for intellectual types it isn’t always so simple-ish (though it eventually boils down to that), and for nicer...less 'I’m a Jack of all trades' people, it works, really.

start off the day with a good attitude because that is usually contagious. Then invite someone you think would be fun to hang out with, maybe pizza or window shopping at the mall. good luck, school is hard, college is easier from what I hear.

Don't try to please everyone, because you'll never succeed. Pick a few sincere, kind people (not the popular egotistical kids) and try to get to know them. If they reject your friendship, don't give up, you'll eventually find someone who's deserving of your time and friendship. Don't give up..I think that's the key.

Scope out someone else who may be in a similar situation & strike up a conversation.It may take a few times & a few different people til you make a connection but don't give up.Once you have one good friend you'll see it's easier to add more.Although one good friend is ALOT.Good luck...:0)

you just have to be yourself! trust me! i used to be really shy, but now that i am more open with people i have great friends! :) and i am lovin' life and i know you will too :D
