Do guys text back just to be polite?

My bf never texts me back if he is with his friends but will always text them back with when with me. and i just got on to him about it... guys if this were you would you be mad at me..

  He is not being respectful. If he can text his friends, he can text you, too. You did the right thing by telling him, because that's the only solution. I dated a guy once who had such a bad habit of talking to other people in the room while we were on the phone that I finally just started hanging up on him when he did that. He asked why. I said, "Next time, call me when you actually have some time to talk." It didn't happen again. Maybe next time your guy starts texting, you should say, "Call me when you actually have time to hang out" and then go home.
