They really are very pretty earrings - small and classy looking, and decent quality. But there are three problems that are a deal breaker for me: 1. The stones in the ad photo are a deep, brilliant purple. This is what made me decide to order them in the first place. I am dissappointed that the stones in the pair I received are a dull, washed out, lifeless color that isn't nearly as appealing as the photo. I just cannot get past the difference between the ad photo and the real thing. I have seen amathysts that are not brilliant, but I didn't expect these to look like that, because the photo is so eye-popping. 2. The stones are too heavy for the size of the earring. The metal relatively lightweight and it cannot hold it's own against the weight of the stones, so that the stones sag down to the bottom of the earring, making them even less noticable. This, coupled with the dull stones makes them far less beautiful than the ad photo. Another reviewer mentioned this, but I was hoping that they would sit better on my ears. Unfortunately, I have the same problem, and don't think they are as attractive on my ears as I had hoped they would be. 3. A little bit too heavy in general. I have VERY thin earlobes, and my piercings are almost 40 years old. It is easy to get earrings that make my earlobes sag and look old and unattractive. I have to wear earrings that are made extremely light so that my ears don't appear streched out and ugly. This would probably not be a problem for most people, but for those of us who need to be careful about this, be aware that these earrings are borderline in this area. If you have this problem, you know what I mean. They are such pretty earrings, and if only one of these things had been different, I might have kept them. But as it is, I am sending them back and hoping for better luck next time. The good news is that Amazon makes this kind of return VERY EASY, so if you are undecided, you might want to go ahead and order them just to see if your luck is better than mine.
