The embassy of Kenya in Washington, DC, and the consular offices in Los Angeles and New York process and approve visa applications. Since it may take up to four weeks before an application for a Kenyan visa is approved, apply well in advance to avoid any delays or changes in your travel plans. Get a money order or cashier's check covering the processing fee for your visa. As of 2010, the processing fee for a single entry visa is USD $25, USD $50 for a multiple entry visa and USD $10 for a transit visa. The money order or cashier's check must be payable to "Embassy of the Republic of Kenya" if you submitting your application to Consular Services of Embassy of Kenya in Washington, DC; the money order or cashier's check must be payable to "The Kenya Consulate" if you are submitting your application to a Kenyan consular office. Get documented proof from a travel agent showing your flight itinerary or confirmed booking. The document displaying this information must clearly display the travel agent's letterhead. Mail your completed application, supporting documents and a valid passport via certified mail to the Kenyan Embassy or Consulate that is nearest to your location; you must include a self-addressed stamped return envelope with delivery confirmation.
