Is advertising a difficult field to get into?

Single mom in Maryland? 2 teen boys & recent victim of the lay-off epidemic. I have 24+/yrs in printing/advertising/graphics & 2 diplomas (general/Printing) Taking courses In HIT online - How does one get their foot in the door in the medical field?

Okay - I get what you mean about limited characters for asking the question. You are on the right track regarding where to start your new career. You could look for jobs for receptionist, secretary etc to get your foot in the door. I know of a person who started their own medical billing business and had mentioned, at one time, that she was looking to add people to join her business. I'd look in the classifieds but also, consider calling your own doctor's office and asking them who they currently use for billing and if they are happy with that person. I don't know where in Maryland you live but there were a few positions open for medical billing specialists in white marsh and Columbia. Another idea would be for you to look into one of the temp agencies like Accounttemps. Once you've completed your training, they may be able to place you in a temporary position that will either give you experience, or might even lead to a permanent position. Best of Luck.

Sorry to hear about your lay off. I have a few questions though. First, what is HIT? In what capacity are you looking to enter the medical field? (physician, nursing, medical billing, etc.)
