Can anyone please explain to me a bit more about the existence of duplicate content articles causing Google to block websites or website pages from being found in search results? Why does it not block for eg EzineArticles.com?

Answer:
Google has a set of guidelines, one of which is that content cannot be duplicated on partner websites. This was a common method of securing top level search results, because if 20 websites all had the same content, then the top 20 results in Google would be the same page leading to a 100% profit margin for businesses. Some websites can allow duplicated data if they make themselves aware to Google and state their case. Such websites usually involve government, council, medical & charity websites. I think were talking about the same thing aren't we?
