How can i change the settings not to show my name?

I changed my computer settings so that all pictures, gifs, jpgs do not show me a preview of the picture. It is a generic Windows icon and the file name. How do I change the settings so I can see the pictures when I access the folders without clicking?

  • Answer:

Left click on "View" at the top and make sure the setting is on "Show large icons" or "Thumbnails". That should bring back the images. UPDATE: In Vista, open your My Pictures folder and click on Organize (on the toolbar). Open "Folder and Search Options", then the View tab. Uncheck "Always show icons, never thumbnails". Scroll down a bit and check "Remember each folder's view settings". Then Apply and OK. I can only see icons, but I don't want to see icons. I want to see the actual picture when I open my pictures folder.

Carrot and Stick

1. Open the Start Menu. 2. Find the search box, located at the bottom of the start menu. 3. In the Search Box, type gpedit.msc and Press 'Enter' on the Keyboard or click the Magnifying Glass icon to the right of the Search Box. This is to launch the "Local 'Group Policy' Editor". 4. If a UAC prompt pops up, click Continue. 5. In the Left Pane, click on / expand User Configuration; Administrative Templates; 'Start Menu and Taskbar'. 6. In the Right Pane, find and Right Click 'Turn off taskbar thumbnails', and from the Context Menu Strip, click 'Properties' (in Windows 7 Beta, you may have to double click). 7. From the Dialog Prompt Box that has popped up, find the 'Not Configured' or 'Disabled' Radio Button, and Check (Dot) it. You can re-enable this module by clicking 'Enabled'. 8. Close the Local Group Policy Editor window. 9. Reboot / Log-Out and then Log In again. 10. Reap the benefits if successful! I hope this helps you.
